He is on the board of directors of the Southern Medical Association. He and his wife Jane have two children Christopher and Amanda. Among his hobbies, he is a life master in bridge and Order of Merlin in the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

During medical school, she was part of Project Mediishare and attended mission trips to Haiti. Prior to residency, she worked at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and assisted in research. She moved to Kingsport, TN in 2009. She is married to Chris Brown and has one child, Ava. She is of Cuban Descent and is fluent in Spanish. Her hobbies include, travel, dancing and reading.
